Hexagon Awarded Major GHA Research Contracts

Hexagon Research and Consulting has recently been awarded two major research contracts from Glasgow Housing Association.

We have been commissioned to undertake a programme of work to Evalaute Glasgow Housing Association's Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy over two years. The evaluation programme will be targeted on three key aspects of the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy:
  • The performance of nine existing Service Level Agreements which GHA has entered into with partner delivery agencies

  • The performance of a sample of twelve projects supported by grant funding from GHA’s Wider Action Fund and Wider Action Development Fund

  • A health check of the effectiveness of the grant process and programme.

The second contract is for the first phase of a programme of Social Surveys for Glasgow Housing Association to help identify the views of residents in areas where major regeneration projects are being considered.

GHA has identified a number of areas for major regeneration projects where there may be demolitions or major investment work. As part of the process of determining the future of these estates, GHA are seeking the views of residents living in these areas through a social survey programme.

This contract covers the first tranche of social surveys in seven areas across Glasgow.

A key output from this work will be to inform a master plan of regeneration projects examining planning, design, geo-technical and social issues, constraints and opportunities.

The contract requires three types of survey to be carried out:
  • Consultative Social Surveys – conducted in the early stages of GHA regeneration projects and aim to provide a profile of residents living in the area and their views.

  • Housing Futures Social Surveys – conducted where a decision on whether to seek approval to demolish may be required. As they will be used to help inform a detailed Re-housing Strategy, information is required on as high a proportion of residents as possible.

  • Re-housing Surveys – required where a demolition decision has been made but a social survey has not been carried out. The survey will target 100% of tenants in the properties due for demolition to record their household details and housing preferences, with a minimum response of 65% required.
